Once again, we are pleased to make available in our feed the latest BriefingsDirect Analyst Insight podcast featuring Dana Gardner and a panel of industry luminaries discussing SOA and cloud computing, this time including Jim Kobielus, Dave Lincthicum, our pal Tony Baer (who was among the very first people to pay attention to ActiveVOS early this year), Western Mass’s own Brad Shimmin (who’s also kept an eye on us, for which we’re grateful), Mike Meehan and this episode’s “I laughed out loud” winner Joe McKendrick.
You gotta listen to this episode in which the panel — in the best pundit style — dissects Microsoft’s Azure. About 20 minutes into the podcast McKenrick calls Microsoft the “Joe the plumber” of the IT world and the discussion elevates from there. (-:
Unlike these esteemed pundits — whose observations are fascinating — we don’t especially care about Microsoft’s cloud initiatives because everyone knows that Azure is as unnatural as dumping silver iodide in cloud to make it rain. Plus, it’s gonna be proprietary and costly. Sure, they’ll make billions off it from the MCabal, but the rest of the world will create SOA in the cloud using standards.
