Mike Kavis separates real BPM evaluators from the sheep

January 20th, 2009 by Alex Neihaus

I know how impossibly self-serving it’ll seem, but Mike Kavis’s lastest column, How to Select the Right Tools for Your BPM Initiative, makes several common-sense suggestions that everyone should follow when evaluating a BPM system.

Foremost among them: don’t be led around like sheep by the analysts. Mike remembers the agita it caused when Forrester didn’t include ActiveVOS, while claiming to have covered the beachfront in its latest “Wave.” (See posts here and here).

Given the success of ActiveVOS in the marketplace, we feel baaaadly (I couldn’t resist) for customers who spend more than they have to and take longer to succeed than necessary (if they ever get there) simply because they buy from a list someone with very little experience in their business told them to buy from.

Here at Active Endpoints, we’re happy to have BPM users download our trial, use our free trial support to develop a POC and put a proven product through its paces.

(BTW, I had a friend who raised sheep in New Hampshire. She once told me why those sheep have those colors painted on their rear ends. If you want to know why, email me, and I’ll tell you. It’s not fit for a family-friendly BPM blog. (-: )
